If you have ever used any type of “Floating Worm Technique” you should know that it all started when Danny Joe won the first ever “BASS National Federation Championship” in July of 1988 on a “Wacky Rigged” pink floating worm. This win qualified him to fish in the 1988 BASS MASTER CLASSIC world championship.
This series of events created a huge market for bright colored floating worms which forced Danny Joe into the tackle business. First he had a worm mold custom built to his specification and went on to create many of the now popular colors that are manufactured industry wide. Such as “Sherbert” (pink & yellow shad)- “Yellow Pearl”
– “Pumpkin Shad” – “Earth Worm” (Natural Shad) – “Hot Pink” High Floaters – “Green & Orange” – “Brown & Orange Shad” – “Black & Yellow Shad” and now our new “Super Salt Worm” the “Salty Sinker” in 6 colors.
In addition Danny Joe became the exclusive distributor of “VIVA Lures” which are a premium line of Japanese Handmade Balsa Wood Lures. Including the VIVA Pencil – VIVA Bug Eye Poppers – VIVA Bug Eye Stick and the Magnum Bug Eye Poppers. In addition VIVA also has a great line of Suspending Jerk & Crank Baits. Three years ago Danny Joe added a new Multi Species Lipless crank bait that comes pre rigged with Diachi Premium Bleeding Red Hooks tipped with a feather tail under the name of “Feather Tail Vibration”. It catches Stripe Bass, Black Bass, Smallmouth Bass and Red Fish.
In addition to the tackle business Danny Joe organized and started his on Tournament Trail & Television show that is now in it’s 22 season. The Bojangles tournament trail covers all of Eastern North Carolina and the TV shows can be viewed world wide on the web at bojanglesproam.com. Check it out!
